“Rotaract is in my blood”, “Rotary’s 4 Way Test is my Holy Text”, he says.

An epitome of love, compassion, honesty and service. An excellent leader profound in his thoughts, strategic with plans and brilliant in execution. He is one of the most lovable and admired Rotary leaders. He is one among the very few in India to have been honored with the most distinguished Vocational Service Leadership award and Service Above Self award.

MMM is the first Arch Klumph Society Member of RID 3000. He has served the district at various levels right from Club President to District Governor in the year 2016-17. Presently, he serves as the District Trainer for RI District 3000 and designated as Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator - ARPIC (Zone 5) at the international level. The man of actions is entitled to chair the most prestigious event, Rotary International Institute (2021) at Mahabalipuram, Tamilnadu.

Youngest District Governor

MMM entered the world of Rotary as a Rotaractor at the age of 16. Ever since he joined he has been carrying the true spirit of Rotary, ‘Service Above Self’. As a young and energetic Rotaractor, he was instrumental in building a centre for the physically challenged. At the age of 19, he appealed to the Tiruchirappalli District Collector, Sri. Rajaram IAS to sanction the construction of a water tank and a bridge to a remote village near Trichy. Impressed by the young man’s attitude, the district collector immediately approved the proposal and did the needful. He was awarded ‘Outstanding DRR in the World’ by Rotary International, USA. In 2010-11, he became the District Rotaract Committee Chairman.

He played the pivotal role in chartering the Rotary Club of Trichy BHEL City and took charge as its Charter President. The presidentship period turned out to be an overwhelming one winning laurels at the district level that included the best president and best club awards.

It was a sensational moment when he was elected as one of the Youngest District Governor in 2016-17. This year marked the silver jubilee year of Muruganandam’s Rotary journey. Even though he was on the top designation, he always treated himself as the ‘supreme servant’ of the district.

As a Rotaractor

Guinness World Records

He led vibrant Rotarians from the districts of Trichy, Karur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Thuraiyur, Pudukkottai, Manapparai, Dindigul, Theni, Kodaikanal and Madurai. A charismatic leader loved for the respect, concern and compassion he carries for his fellow Rotarians. The entire district remembers all the district seminars and events of 2016-17 for the timeliness, grandeur, meticulous planning and execution.

He kept the whole district on top by attempting 14 Guinness World Records out of which 8 were declared officially. With these attempts, he boosted the public image of Rotary thereby enabling membership growth. His governorship tenure turned out to be a milestone in the history of RID 3000. He commenced his governorship period with a heart-melting Guinness World Record attempt by special children. On a closing day 30th June 2017, he announced his donation of USD250000 to become the first AKS member in the district.

Contributions

The Rotary International stands on three pillars- Membership Development, Contribution to the Rotary Foundation, Building public image. It is noteworthy that he was the only one among the 40 governors from India to be winning International accolades in all the three lines. His contributions to the Rotary Foundation is highly commendable. He began his giving with a sum of USD100 during his Rotaract days. He became a Major Donor even before he set off as a Rotarian.
